Alex Syrup 60 ml

Composition (per 5 ml)

• Chlorpheniramine maleate 2 mg – an antihistamine that relieves allergy symptoms

• Phenylephrine 5 mg – a nasal decongestant

• Dextromethorphan hydrobromide 10 mg – a central cough suppressant

Indications

• Relief of dry cough

• Alleviation of cold and allergy symptoms, including runny nose, sneezing, watery eyes, nasal congestion, and throat irritation

Mechanism of Action

• Chlorpheniramine blocks histamine receptors to ease allergy symptoms

• Phenylephrine constricts nasal blood vessels to reduce congestion

• Dextromethorphan inhibits cough signals in the brain

Dosage & Administration

• Adults and children ≥12 years: typically 5–10 ml every 4–6 hours, as prescribed

• Children 6–12 years: lower dosing—consult a doctor

• Shake well before each use; dosage instructions on the label or as directed by a physician. It may be taken with or without food

• Often begins providing relief within minutes, with effects lasting several hours
