Oflox OZ Suspension Syrup 30 ml

Composition

• Ofloxacin 50 mg / 5 ml (fluoroquinolone antibiotic)

• Metronidazole 100 mg / 5 ml (antiprotozoal antibiotic)

Indications

Used to treat:

• Bacterial and parasitic infections, including:

  • Gastrointestinal issues (diarrhea, dysentery)

  • Urinary tract infections

  • Respiratory infections (e.g., bronchitis, pneumonia)

  • Skin, soft-tissue, dental, and genitourinary infections in children

Mechanism of Action

• Ofloxacin inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase/topoisomerase enzymes, preventing replication

• Metronidazole damages protozoal and anaerobic bacterial DNA—resulting in a broad bactericidal effect

Dosage & Administration

• Shake well before use

• Usually administered twice daily (morning and evening)

• Can be taken with or without food; giving with meals can reduce stomach upset

• If vomiting occurs within 30 minutes, repeat once; do not double dose if the next dose is imminent
