✅ Primary Uses

  • Maintenance (controller) treatment of asthma in adults and children (from about 1 year old)—helps prevent wheezing, breathlessness, chest tightness, and coughing

  • Also used for COPD symptom control in older patients

  • Helps reduce airway inflammation in croup (upper airway infection) in young children

⚡ How It Works

Budesonide calms airway inflammation by inhibiting immune mediators that cause swelling and irritation, improving airflow. Full benefits may appear after a few days to weeks of regular use

💉 Dosage & Administration

  • Typical dose: 0.5 mg (2 mL respule), once or twice daily, as prescribed

  • Procedure:

    1. Twist off respule top and immediately pour into nebulizer cup.

    2. Inhale the mist until the respule is finished.

    3. Rinse mouth after use to prevent thrush

⏱️ Onset & Duration

  • Gradual improvement over days, full effect in weeks.

  • Not for immediate relief—a fast-acting reliever (e.g., salbutamol) is required for acute asthma attacks

  • Throat irritation, cough, hoarseness, oral thrush

  • Headache, nausea, sore throat

Long-term use may increase risks of:
